Cell phones
Clean out your junk drawer! Many of us have a few old cell phones lying around our home or office that could greatly benefit DCADV. We work with a company called Shelter Alliance that recycles and refurbishes used cell phones, and in turn, raises unrestricted funds for DCADV. Each phone can earn up to $30 each.
We collect phones year-round. You can send or drop off your used cell phones to our office between the hours of 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. If you have more than 10 phones to send, you can request a free shipping label and send them directly to Shelter Alliance.

Household goods and supplies
The domestic violence shelters run by People’s Place in Kent and Sussex Counties and Child Inc. in New Castle County may be able to benefit from gently used furniture, appliances, household goods, and household supplies. These may be used either in the shelters or given to survivors moving out of shelter into their own housing.
The shelter programs may also appreciate targeted drives during the holidays and other times of the year. Contact the DV hotlines to inquire about their needs and to arrange for donation and collection.
Get your business involved by supporting an event or project
DCADV offers a number of sponsorship and support opportunities for both small businesses and large corporations. This financial support underwrites a variety of events and projects that otherwise do not have grant funding. Examples include the Purple Ribbon Event, Annual Advocates’ Retreat, and our Mental Health and Trauma Project.
In turn, DCADV offers a number of recognition benefits, including being highlighted on our Partners and Supporters webpage , monthly E-Newsletter, Annual Report, event materials, and with speaking and exhibitor opportunities at events.
Contact DCADV’s Director of Communications and Development to discuss upcoming opportunities at 302.658.2958 or sferrell@dcadv.org.
Hold a cell phone drive in your workplace, church, or community group
Holding a cell phone drive is relatively easy, and is a remarkable gift for DCADV. Churches, sororities, classes, mom’s groups, and workplaces have each raised hundreds of dollars for DCADV in just a matter of weeks. Whether you are soliciting only members of the group (i.e. church congregation, colleagues, club members) to donate their own used phones, or coordinating members of the group to solicit others (i.e. customers, their friends and family, the local community), DCADV has created some materials to help make this as easy as possible. Invite a friend to join you as a Supporting Member
If you’ve already shown your commitment and support by joining as a Supporting Member, consider inviting others you know who care about ending violence against women to join. With annual rates starting at $15 and a variety of benefits, there is sure to be a level that makes sense for them.
